Agustí Duran i Sanpere

Agusti Duran i Sanpere (Cervera, 1887 Segarra - Barcelona 1975). Historian, archivist and archaeologist. Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Law. Since 1912 he collaborated with the Service of Archaeological Research. It was incorporated in 1917 and organized the Municipal Archives, the Office of Research and Publications and the Historical Archives of the City. He directed until 1957 the Institute of History of Barcelona. Member of the Academy of Letters (1924) which presided between 1961 and 1963, the Institute of Catalan Studies (1942) and the Academy of Fine Arts of San Jorge (1968). He was the organizer of the Ethnological Museum of Cervera.
