Following the custom of putting pictures on the walls, the nursing facility commissioned its one of San Pablo Domingo Rovira, called the Younger, to the corner of Calle del Carmen and Egipcíaques. the saint stood to thank the patrons of the first half of the seventeenth century, Pau Ferran, who had given 100,000 ducats to help build the nursing facility, adjacent to the Hospital of Santa Cruz, located between the streets of Carmen and of the hospital.

Convalescence House is currently occupied by the Institute of Catalan Studies, after years of being the headquarters of the School of Library. In the Hospital of the Holy Cross there since the thirties the Library of Catalonia.
