For a few years the Madrid sculptor Alfredo Lanz had a workshop in Maremagnum at the Port of Barcelona. It was the Research Foundation of the Mediterranean Sculpture, and shared it with his wife, Montserrat Faure. They presented a set of pieces, I enjoy living on the catwalk linking Maremagnum the Rambla and gave one to the Port Authority of Barcelona, which is who cares for Maremagnum by the Port 2000 was a work of bright colors - red, yellow, and green that was put to a parterre walk Joan de Borbó, in the Barceloneta, by decision of the Port Authority. The sculpture, called Nereid, was placed without opening on 27 June 2003. According to the author, symbolized the Mediterranean Sea, "living and bright."
