Few sculptures Ciutadella Park have known the popularity of this beautiful lying female nude, the landscape architect urban planner Jean-Claude-Nicolas Forestier put in the middle of the oval pond of water lilies focused its reform of the main square of the Ciudadela, 22 December 1917 figure, called Desconsuelo, was the work of José Limón and had been molded in 1903. in 1907 he won the honor of the V International Art Exhibition of Barcelona, and ten years later was chosen by Forestier as the pearl of its reform of the park. On November 7, 1984 two copies were made, one replaced the original marble that was saved at the Museum of Modern Art (MNAC), the other was donated to the city of Boston.
