House Joan Magí

Magi House was built in the late nineteenth century by Enric Sagnier, one of the most prolific architects of the city.

Its creator is part of a neoclassical style and detail that can be seen in the building reveal the artistic style.

Built in 1896 it exemplifies the type of construction around this area, known as the Eixample district of Barceloneta, the result of the urbanization of the ancient gardens of the Marquis de la Cuadra, the late nineteenth century. The composition of the facades and ornamentation are on the line than usual in Barcelona in the last decades of the nineteenth away from modernism then reached its peak. The vertical axes are remarked with pilasters reminiscent blocks and openings of the balconies are framed with double pilasters of classical capitals.

The facade is pale pink, decorated with pilasters and simple classic character balconies supported by brackets. Has that imposing character of neoclassical buildings, the stately air which aims to differentiate it from the rest.
