The hotel opened its doors in 1859 under the name of Fonda de España, later to be renovated by the architect Modernist Lluís Domènech i Montaner with the collaboration of Eusebi Arnau and Ramón Casas.
It has 82 rooms that have been redecorated respecting the conceptualization of Domenech i Muntaner. Rooms are stylish and stylish, with a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and a modern bathroom.
